As most of you reading this probably know, I am getting ready for the biggest adventure of my life. Many of you have told me I should start a blog, so here it is. I'm not the best writer, and I especially don't like letting people read what I write. But, I'm going to attempt to get over that, and share my adventures with you all!
In less than 20 hours, I will be heading to Australia for my semester of studying abroad in Canberra! I am extremely excited for this amazing opportunity, but I am also extremely nervous. I know it will be an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. I know I will have the time of my life, and come December, I will not want to leave Australia. I am excited to experience a new life, make new friends, and travel around Australia. I'm excited for all the things I'll learn about a different way of life. I'm excited and nervous to be pushed out of my comfort zone. I'm even excited for my classes I'll be taking!
While I am super excited about things, I'm also nervous about things. As I've been packing all day, I'm worried about how I'm supposed to carry everything I need to live for 4 and a half months through an airport. That will be my first challenge to overcome in my adventure. :-) I'm worried one of my flights will be delayed, and I'll miss a connecting flight. I'm worried of leaving all my family and friends. I'm scared for how the 14 hour time difference will affect talking and staying in touch with my US friends. And I'm excited and nervous for all that will change while I'm away. Oh, and I'm sad I'll miss a lot of the Olympics. That's just really sad. Have no fears though--even though I just listed lots of things I'm nervous for, I still know this is going to be the best experience ever!
So, this is definitely a night of mixed emotions. I'm am beyond excited and nervous at the same time. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I never thought I would be one of the people who actually studied abroad. But, this is actually happening! And it's happening so very soon! So, on that note, I am going to post my first ever blog post and go to bed since I have a big day ahead of me!
